Standing on the East Coast, pointed toward California, and clicking my heels three times

Start Spreading the News...
So, here I am in New York. For some reason I just had the hardest time coming back to write here, though I've been in White Plains for three weeks now. The trip to CA was just exhausting for me and the weeks we've been here have been even harder.
Not all bad, but it's been a tough transitional time for the kids and me. They are trying to settle in to a new environment and I'm hauling them around trying to get our lives in order. So many things have been ridiculously difficult, like trying to get Matthew registered for school and being held up by the goddamn TB form. Not to mention the fact that it's not at all easy to navigate the roads around here and I'm constantly getting lost, even if we're going somewhere 3 miles away.
The kids get bitchy and whiny and wild in public, and I find myself in varying levels of aggravation ALL DAY LONG.
And we're all trying to adjust to this "Daddy leaves at 6:30 in the morning before anyone is up and doesn't come home till 6:30 at night." All day Tessa asks where Daddy is, if he's coming home soon. He's always been around much more than this. He used to be around to help get the kids ready in the morning almost everyday. I shudder to think how mornings are going to be when school starts.
Nonetheless, here we are, and it's a pretty nice place (all the above notwithstanding :)). Time to get on with it, life that is.
